RIVER STUDIOS

After getting to the Open Mic UK finals I was offered a development contract at River Studios in Southampton.

Below are a selection of some of the original songs that I wrote. They were co produced with Tom Jobling. I've included a brief summary of my influences behind them;

Red lips 

For this piece, I wanted to write a laid back summer song that is stripped back in the production. I like the idea of not being the broken hearted one. 

Find Another

This piece has a bit more of a beat, and was a ressurection/remodel of a song I wrote a few years ago. With the electrical riff and more upbeat tempo, the lyrics I've written represent the feel of the music. The lyrics were influenced by a friend's story.

Shine

I had recently listened to Florence and the Machine, and wanted to broaden my writing techniques. Being more of a ballad, this piece is more about the production and vocal performance.

Shelves

This song was written to a brief during my BTEC in songwriting. It was originally written to fit around a band on a big stage enviroment, hence the cresendos around the chorus's.
